A positive-working, accurate compression/friction lock, which is activated by a squeeze~4ockand squeeze~release mechanism, is disclosed for use on a daisy print wheel to alleviate any insertion and removal difficulties between the print wheel and the shaft of the print wheel positioning motor.

With reference to Figures 1 and 2, the print wheel motor hub 10 is removably attached to the print wheel motor shaft 12 by retainer nut 14. The print wheel hub

16 fits over and against mating portions of motor hub 10. Rotor tabs 18 and 20 are fastened to and move rotors 22 and 24 when tabs 18 and/or 20 are moved, Hub~ locking tabs 26 and 28 are an integral part of motor hub 10. Cover 30 is bonded to

the print wheel hub 16. Static tabs 32 and 34 are an integral part of cover 30 and are not movable with respect to the cover.

In Figure 1, a portion of the cover is shown removed in order to show the hub- locking tabs 26 and 28 and the rotors 22 and 24, which are normally covered by the cover 30. In Figure 1, the retainer is shown in the unlocked position with rotors 22
