A concept is disclosed regarding the fabrication of print wheels, which could allow processes which have previously been considered unfeasible because of the small space between characters.

The concept relates to a print wheel comprising two hub portions with each hub portion containing half the spokes together with half the character slugs. Odd spokes would emanate from one hub portion, and even spokes would emanate from the second hub portion. This concept would provide for more space between character slugs in the mold and allow for easier tooling of the fabrication molds. The two hub portions are then joined together in the final assembly process to provide the completed print wheel.
