Client/server-based Trace Viewer for Print Services Facility

Services Facility (PSF) product running in the MVS environment. The
client operates in a desktop OS/2* to view, format, note, and tailor
traces in the host (server). Reference Fig. 1 for an overview of the
Following is the PSF trace viewer end-to-end flow:
o User enters an OS/2 command to view the target trace file:
PCHOS2 psfview.ext (trace file name)
o The command invokes a PCHOS2 script (psfview.ext) to run a host
REXX program to (1) abstract key events of the host trace file,
(2) build an indexed file, (3) download the file. PCHOS2 is an
OS/2 command processor which supports controlling host sessions
(TSO, ISPF, CICS, IMS...) from OS/2.
o The OS/2 main program displays the indexed file to allow the
to browse and search for events of interest.

each trace entry is prefixed with an index and
suffixed with a time stamp.
