Abstract

This invention is a headset based on 802.11 voiceover IP technology. There is no prototype yet. A future product would be equipped with a PLMN wireless protocol and/or an 802.11 wireless capability. With providing an 802.11 headset, there’d be no reason to provide a Bluetooth headset. The 802.11 protocol can be used for everything that the Bluetooth is used for. This idea allows for related patents in configuring an 802.11 headset, and certain communications protocols in the voice over IP domain, as well as home routing solutions. Outside of the wireless domain, there is a growing market for high speed voice over IP communications. A self-contained voice over IP headset would be useful to any user with an 802.11 This idea solves the problem of adding a third wireless protocol (Bluetooth) to a handheld device. Bluetooth would primarily be used for a headset or an automobile wireless adaptor. 801.11 is capable of replacing this functionality. This idea is purely theoretical at this time.
