Multiple examples of easy-open bags that have integral pull-tabs or pull-rings are discussed. In one example, a product packaging that uses sealed plastic bags or re-sealable plastic bags is modified in order to provide integral pull-tabs or pull-rings that allow consumers that may have limited dexterity and strength to readily open the bags. In another example, in order to activate some products, frangible seals may be provided that require the application of force in order to break the seal. Rather than relying on the application of high pressure in order to force open a small seal, an easy-open bag is discussed that has a frangible seal that can be released by pulling gently on tab-like or ring-like structures that are attached to opposite sides of the sealed region, which is analogous to the opening of sealed bags.

Abstract
Background
Consumers face daily numerous sealed bags that must be opened in order to access the product therein, such as potato chips, cereal, disposable articles, wet wipes, and so forth. Many traditional bags are difficult to open or, in the case of typical re-sealable bags, require a certain degree of dexterity that some users may lack. Therefore, a need exists for a re-sealable bag that may be opened by users that may have limited dexterity and strength.
Additionally, in order to activate some products, frangible seals may be provided that require the application of force in order to break the seal. Again, bags that have frangible seals may require a certain degree of dexterity that some users may lack. Consequently, rather than relying on the application of high pressure in order to force open a small seal, it would be beneficial to develop a frangible seal that can be released by a gentle force.
Description
The present concept discusses example embodiments of easy-open bags that have integral pull-tabs or pull-rings. In each case, the pull-tabs or pull-rings can be formed of a single section of plastic or, alternatively, can be separate portions that are welded or adhered to the bag. In one example, the pull-rings may be thermally welded t...
