Quite often receiving a lot of phone calls, pepole have difficulties to recall to which topic a person is related to or wonder, before answering, why someone is calling them. On the phones, normally there is the possibility to identify the caller, and based on it, a particular ring tone may be selected for example. Also a picture or a bitmap may be associated to the specific caller. A specific number may also be associated to a category (like: family, work, friends). If an agenda is present on the call receiving device, a "profile" may be associated to a specific number. But for an incoming call, questions like "about what I was in touch with this caller?", "which is the last topic I discussed with this caller", "what most likely is he calling me about?", "why is he calling me" cannot be directly answered.

Phone-call topic

The idea is to have on the display of the phone, together with the caller name and his picture, also a call-subject row that will be shown while the phone is ringing. The "relation topic" may be retrieved from the caller profile (directly set from the phone owner, once a time or periodically updated), or may be retrieved from a conneted email system, getting the subject (along with the

priority) of the last email (or last set of emails) received from the specific caller. (Most likely the

caller is calling about it/them. The benefit for the receiver is high especially in case several time has passed from when the last email was received, it may be difficult for the receiver to retrieve its content and to be ready and effective at call start).

Moreover this information about the topic and the related call priority may also be directly set from the caller, having the transmission system enabled to send this kind of info too (more easy if all is on voIP for example).

When the incoming call arrives and the id of the caller has been verified, the call-subject may be retrieved from a topic table (easy as shown in Figure 1) stored in the memory of the call receiving device.
