Automated Rack for Server Installation

As shown in the figure, an automated rack lifts the server into place position relative to the desired rack slot for insertion. This would alleviate the need of have multiple personnel on hand to lift the server. The automated rack may have either a motorized chain/belt or a mechanical crank with balanced weights on both sides of the rack. The rack includes a platform in front that may be lowered to the floor or to the level of a pallet or table. This allows the user to slide the server onto the platform and then lift the server to the desired height. The platform would have rollers on it to make it easier for the server to slide into place and a folding pin lock to hold the server securely in place. The platform would also have ventilation holes to allow free flow of air for proper circulation. Once the systems are in place you would lower the platform and fold it up to its original position.
