However, there are many times, when the item that is "perfect" for their friend is outside of their budget. This can be solved by sharing the cost of the gift with others. Currently the only way to share the cost of a gift is manual and limited to the friends of the friend that you are also friends with.

This notification will make others aware that someone would like to purchase gift "A" for the gift recipient and provide a gift deadline date. Optional items may be added to the notification such as gift reason and why this should be purchased. The user has the option of being anonymous or known. In addition, the amount that the user is willing to spend may be anonymous or known. Users who are notified may enter the maximum amount that the users are willing to put toward the gift. Even if the user decides to remain anonymous from the other purchasers, when the gift is shipped to the recipient, a list of people who contributed will be included.
