Background of the invention

Today the knife in the bar of a hand blender is mounted stiff to the rotation axis. While cleaning the bar after use, this brings a hassle to the user because food stuff is sticking between knife, axis and bar cage. Simple rinsing under the tap is not always sufficient requiring the user to use either additional cleaning accessories (brush, kitchen knife, sponge, and etcetera) or his/her fingers. These actions will bring the user's fingers close to the knife, putting the user in danger to get hurt by the knife.

Problems or disadvantages solved by the invention

Cleaning of the bar cage and knife is a big hassle for user due to the fact that food stuff is caught at areas which cannot be reach by the user. This is unhygienic if not cleaned properly or dangerous for the user if he/she tries to reach these areas with the fingers.

The essential feature of the invention

It is proposed to divide the hand blender bar into two halves. These are connected by a hinge so that they can be swung open. By opening the bar like this all areas can be reached easily and the injury risk is reduced.
