A system is disclosed which places the captioning on an unimportant portion of the video. This method focuses on the fact that when the user shoots the video, the important portion is always placed focus. The system searches for the 3 dimentional object which has focus. Also the system searches for the object with big motion. Finally the 3 dimentional objects with focus and big motion are mapped to the orignial 2D image. The non-mapped area are derived as the optimal position to place the captioning.
Method to Extract Unimportant Portions of Video
A system is disclosed which places the captioning on an optimal position. Currently captions are mostly placed on a fixed position and often the problem occurs that the important portion of the video is blocked by the captioning.
As for the previous techniques to automate such process, first there is the method to extract the frequency of the video image, and embed to the low frequency area. But with such method, often it would result embedding to such area as the flipcharts which is simply accidentally low in frequency. Otherwise there are techniques to match person or face by recognition technology. But it is not necessarily human beings that are important, when we are to assume the millions of animals, transportation vehicles, art objects and it is practically impossible to detect everything by recognition technology.
This system places the caption on the unimportant portion of the video. This method focuses on the fact that when the user shoots the video, the important portion is always placed focus. Since focus is basically the 3 dimensional focal position. This system basically searches for the object which has 3D focal position. In order to allocate the object with focus, such technology as contrast detection method can be applied. It should be noted that this invention is not limited to any specific method for searching the 3D focal position or object. Also the system...
