Method and System for Optimizing Vehicular Traffic Flows
A method and system is disclosed for optimizing vehicular traffic flows in a geographical area based on analysis of data associated with the vehicular traffic.
The method and system collects data associated with the vehicular traffic in the geographical area using one or more of a Global Positioning System (GPS), Digital Video System (wherein data may be parsed using DVS solution like "Video Cohorts"), Olfactory Cohort (this type of data specifically includes emission data) and an Inference Engine. The collected data is subsequently analyzed and based on the analysis of the data, one or more green routes into and out of the geographical area may be determined. The data may be pushed to or saved at a central location like a server or a repository to optimize traffic lights in the geographical area for maximum throughput.
Further, the method and system may use the data to derive probable destinations for vehicular traffic travelling in the geographical area. Thereafter, dynamic cohorts of the vehicular traffic may be generated based on the probable destinations. Then the cohorts of vehicular traffic may be moved together as manageable chunks to optimize traffic flow. In order to optimize the traffic flow, traffic lights in the geographical area may be adjusted dynamically to move a cohort intact through a given route to a probable destination. Alternatively, the cohort may be dynamically divided into a number of small cohorts to pass through different alternative rou...
