Disclosed is a method and system for presenting credit/debit card transaction receipts to users via an Internet Service Provider (ISP). A Point of Sale (POS) system residing in a retail store scans a credit/debit card transaction receipt and generates an electronic copy of the transaction receipt. The electronic copy of the transaction receipt is then transmitted to a gateway server. Further, the gateway server stores the transaction receipt received by the POS system and forwards the transaction receipt to the ISP. Thereafter, the ISP presents the transaction receipts to a user.

In a scenario, a user may perform a credit/debit card transaction in a retail store. The retail store provides a Point of Sale (POS) system for performing the credit/debit card transaction and printing a receipt of the credit/debit card transaction. The POS system is provided with an in-built scanner for scanning the printed transaction receipt and generating an electronic copy of the transaction receipt. Upon generating the electronic copy of the transaction receipt, the electronic copy of the transaction receipt is transmitted to a gateway server which is connected wirelessly with the POS system.

The transmission of the electronic copy of the transaction receipt to the gateway server may be performed periodically. Alternatively, the electronic copy of the transaction receipt may be transmitted after every credit/debit card transaction performed by the user.
