Method and System for Providing Add -On Displays to a Laptop
Disclosed is a method and system for providing add-on displays to a laptop is disclosed.
In order to connect the one or more add-on displays to the laptop, the laptop is provided with female hinge connectors using an accessory backplate as shown in Fig. 1.

The female hinge connectors may be pre-mounted on the laptop during manufacturing of the laptop. The female hinge connectors may be attached to the laptop using snap clamps or double-sided sticky pads. The laptop is also provided with Universal Serial Bus (USB) connections at a display screen of the laptop. The USB connections may be provided inside the female hinge connectors. Further, the display screen of the laptop may be connected with an add-on display. The add-on display is provided with male hinge connectors on both the sides as shown in Fig. 2.

The add-on display may be connected to the display screen of the laptop from both the sides of the display screen. The add-on display may be connected to the laptop using double-
jointed hinge extenders as shown in Fig. 3.

The hinge connectors may be cantilevered or compound hinges such that a pivot point would be a juncture between the laptop and the add-on display. The double-
jointed
hinge extenders may be used for creating a daisy-chain of add-on displays connected to the laptop.
In an embodiment, a single add-on display is connected to the display screen of the

laptop as shown in Fig. 4.

Further, Fig. 5 shows a top perspective of the single add-on display connected to the laptop as a secondary display.

In a scenario, the single add-on display may be placed in a position such that the single add-on display faces away from the display screen of the laptop. In other words, the single add-on display may be folded backwards to the display screen of the laptop as shown in Fig. 6.

The single add-on display may be provided with a fold-down "foot" for adding stability to the laptop when the single add-on display is folded backwards. Alternatively, the single add-on display may be provided with extensible teflon feet on edges of the single add-on display. The position of the single add-on display as shown in Fig. 6 may be used for displaying contents such as presentations or a company logo to a user facing the single add-on display.
