A method to eliminate interference in audio devices

When using headphones around a mobile phone call or when the phone is transmitting an interference noise can be heard interfering with the audio. Existing solutions to this problem are to move the mobile phone or device causing the interference further away from yourself, or use shielded cabling. Both of these known solutions are ineffective in reducing the annoyance caused through the interference and do not adequately solve the problem.

A solution is disclosed that aims to reduce the impact sound interference has on the listening experience of the user. As audio cables in headphones are current implemented, there is a set of cables used to send audio signals down the wire to the magnets in the headphone buds. The solution disclosed builds upon this concept by having an identical cable, emulating the other cable as far as possible except not sending any actual audio. Doing this will allow a comparison in the earphone bud of two wires, the one sending an interfered audio signal, and one

which is just interference. Applying an audio transform and comparison of these two signals will allow the removal of the interference signal from the audio line.

The advantage of this invention is that it will directly solve the problem of the audio interference in a way which is more effective than the current solutions such as audio cable shielding which is very ineffective, or moving away from the interference source which i...
