A virtual tracking method in video recording/broadcasting

There is a very common use case of broadcasting video of a presentation in real time, which there is a person on stage, and there is a screen to show the close shot of the speaker. For example, in the keynote sessions on Tech Summit 2011, there was a speaker present on stage, and cameraman controlled a video camera to capture the video and played it back on screen in real time. The problem is we must have a real person to control the video equipment. This invention idea provides the solution to this problem.
Fig. 1 shows the case in Tech Summit 2011. At this situation, a real cameraman is required to control the video camera to track the speaker, because normally the speaker moves on stage when he/she is talking, and we want to show him/her on the screens at left and right side of the stage.
Fig. 2 shows the case in Adobe Connect. In most of situation in VCR meeting rooms, the video camera view angle is fixed or nobody will change that during the presentation. So the speaker cannot move so much, otherwise he/she will be out of the screen.
For the both cases, either we need a real cameraman to control the video camera, or ask the speaker doesn’t move during his/her presentation, which are not good/convenient enough.

The basic concept of this invention is to use video object detection technology (which is available in adobe) to track the presenter, and output part of the sight, which makes the presenter at the center of output video.
