Store Space For Rack Door
There seemed to be some inefficiencies and difficulties when the users utilized the server rack.
A. Engineers would have to first remove the rack door in order to easily install the servers into the rack.
B. People would casually place the removable rack doors anywhere, and sometimes it might cause hazardous events to happen in the workplace. Workplace safety is one of our highest priorities to ensure the protection of all our employees; therefore, one of our main ideas is trying to reduce the chances of any hazardous event.
C. Users usually leaved the door open while they are using the server on the rack. In such case, it would take up space on the narrow sidewalk and cause inconvenience for others.
Our design is to add some extra space next to the rack for the purpose of door storage. The additional storage space for rack door is easier, safer, and much more convenient than the current rack design. The new design which contains a space within the rack for placing the door will not only help users, but also will make the lab clean and to have a better arrangement.
The new design will provide additional space on the left side of the rack. There will be sliding door tracks on the top and the bottom of the additional space. When users open the door and turn it toward 90 degrees, they can simply slide the door into the rack.
