8 Inventions That Were Patented on April 26th

In honor of World Intellectual Property Day, we wanted to share eight interesting inventions that were patented on April 26th.

1. 1892 – Sara Boone patented an ironing board. [1]

2. 1901 – Marconi’s Wireless Telegraph Company patented improvements in an apparatus for wireless technology that reduced transmission interference by enabling the tuning of the transmitter, receiver and antenna. [2]

3. 1921 – Reuben B. Benjamin/Benjamin Electric Manufacturing Company patented a combination cap and socket. [3]

4. 1921 – Frederick K. Maerz/The Morreau Company patented an arm for lighting fixtures. [4]

5. 1967 – Frank Mountjoy patented an electrical shock device for repelling sharks. [5]

6. 2005 – Daimler Chrysler Corporation patented an exhaust gas recirculation method for decreasing start-up fuel requirements. [6]

7. 2016 – Lightbulb, LLC patented ergonomic crutch grips. [7]

8. 2016 – Wirtgen GmbH patented a self-propelled construction machine and method for operating a self-propelled construction machine. [8]
