Abstract (English)
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for a hybrid electric car for sufficiently accomplishing improvement of fuel consumption and exhaust gas characteristics by efficiently using an engine and an electric motor without depending on power generation driven by the engine and without needlessly suppressing and prohibiting travel by the electric motor while sufficiently securing the SOC of a battery between jam prediction and jam entry, thereby enabling to continue the travel by the electric motor as much as possible during the jam.
SOLUTION: By increasing an SOC balance point where the SOC of the battery is balanced up to 70% during the jam prediction, the SOC is secured by charging the battery by regenerative braking during deceleration of a vehicle while travel mainly with the engine is performed in the increasing process of the SOC balance point, and travel mainly with the electric motor is performed in the reducing process of the SOC balance point by reducing the SOC balance point down to 30% in the following jam entry.
