本发明公开了一种处理流媒体业务异常的方法及装置，使用户在请求流媒体内容时更加清楚的知道终端或服务器发生的异常状况。本发明中服务器在与发送流媒体业务请求的终端设备进行连接的交互过程中发现异常时，继续与该终端建立流媒体连接；以及所述服务器将关于所述异常的提示信息转换为流媒体形式，并通过流媒体连接发送给所述终端设备。该装置包括接收单元、处理单元和发送单元。
