Your Prior Art, Your Rules: What’s New in IQ Ideas+ 3.7
If you’ve ever felt like the evaluation process was fighting you on where your prior art should come from, this release is for you. IQ Ideas+ 3.7 hands that control back to you — upload it, search for it, or pull it straight from the cloud — and pairs it with a cleaner Points of Novelty workflow and richer, AI-mapped Invention Disclosure exports. Here’s the rundown.
Bring Your Own Prior Art
No more relying solely on auto-retrieved Gist results. The Evaluate a New Idea module now lets you add prior art on your own terms: drag-and-drop files (.xlsx, .docx, .pptx, .pdf), import directly or search the IP.com database yourself. Building a bigger list? Bulk-upload it via .xlsx and skip the one-by-one entry. And once it’s in, it doesn’t disappear — the Technology Vitality Report now exports your user-identified prior art too.
Points of Novelty, Reimagined
We cleaned house on Points of Novelty. Each point now gets its own clearly separated box, so your list is easier to scan and edit. The default is still 5 points, but nothing’s stopping you from adding more when the invention calls for it.
Smarter Invention Disclosure Exports
Your exports just got a lot more useful. Invention Disclosure exports now include LLM-generated Similarities and Differences mappings for every piece of prior art — the same intelligence already at work in TVR’s Applicability and Differences summaries — and automatically flag the most relevant section and location for each reference. Less digging, more deciding.

- Upload Progress Indicator — a live progress bar during document upload, so “how much longer?” isn’t a mystery.
- Retention Period Update — reports now default to 2-day retention, extendable up to 30 days.
- New Admin & User Roles — admins can now manage retention periods, disclosure maturity settings, and the invention disclosure template.
- Optional Points of Novelty — organizations can toggle Points of Novelty from required to optional, org-wide.
